These week’s One Four Challenge hosted by Robyn at Captivate Me. I have tried my hand at another Monochrome. I have added a little less contrast and pulled both the black and white back just a touch from last week’s cottage”
Pic Info: Olympus Digital Camera, Shutter Speed 1/320 Sec, Aperture F3.7, ISO 58.
Treatment: In Lightroom, changed to B&W mode, improved clarity, adjusted exposure, reduced the noise and added a vignette………….nice and simple.
This is last weeks version
This one appeals very much!!
Really great to see the contrast between this and last week’s images.

Nice job, the vignette is a tad heavy for such an off center subject for my preference but thats an aesthetic choice you are entirely entitled to make 🙂 Its a really strong and simple image to work with, look forward to next week.

Thanks I am still experimenting with bw and vignettes. Never quite sure when I’ve pushed too far

Wow, what a contrast between these two weeks. I loved the strong colours of week 1 but this weeks B&W makes it a totally different image. I like the B&W effect but don’t feel it needs the vignette as the image is strong enough and the eye is drawn to the person naturally. Just my tuppence halfpenny worth as my mother used to say 🙂

Great difference….same picture, new story. I would, however agree that perhaps the vignette needs to be more subtle

Julz, Amazing difference between week1 and 2! This is such a moody version… But I like the funky one from your first attempt because of its originality. Keep playing! Chris
