Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Traffic Signs

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Traffic Signs, possibly not what Cee had in mind and even though these challenges are open to interpretation, a traffic sign is a traffic sign isn’t? I know Cee is forgiving 🙂 Anyway these are all old motoring & marketing signs from the Berwick Car Show at Easter. Glad I can put them to good use.

Cee’s Black and White Challenge – Things with Numbers

This week Cee’s Black and White Challenge is Anything with Numbers on it, personally I thought Letterboxes! So I decided to do a random montage of interesting letterboxes while we are out on our evening walk. I think I am becoming a strange oddity in our neighborhood,  firstly I am up at the duck pond before first light and well after dark with my tripod and camera.

Now I have taken to wandering the neighborhood taking random photos of people’s letterboxes. I think they are wondering what on earth I do with them all!

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Close Ups

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge this week is Close Ups I wasn’t exactly sure how close up close was? Most of these are fairly up close. I could have cropped them all a little tighter, but generally I do not like to get too close and loose features and stuff. Or am I just being timid?

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Phones

This week’s Black and White Photo Challenge is all about phones, Old phones, new phones, cell and vintage phones. I had to hunt through a few pics, as there are really no public phones in Melbourne these days. I can’t remember the last time I saw a vintage phone (and if I even took a photo of it) and my house phone is so uninspiring I didn’t even think of using it! Oh well, be that as it may I have some Public Phones from NZ, one from Beechworth (Victoria) and Moth’s new cell (Mobile) phone, my cell phone and my office phone.

Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Bathroom

This week’s B&W Challenge is Bathrooms and Outhouses. I do not really have access to many outhouses and I am not about to photograph public restrooms….I might get arrested. Anyway I thought perhaps instead of different bathrooms, I would just do one – Mine! We finally renovated our main bathroom just recently. It had been on my ‘list of things to do’ in the house. I have tried to be a bit artsy with the actual shots, and what I have here is pretty much straight out of the camera. All I have really done is Cropped and straightened a few.

I have discovered that small bathrooms can be difficult to shoot, and have some many interesting nooks and crannies when you go looking for something to photograph.

Cee’s Black and White Photographic Challenge – Camera or Photos of Photographers

Cee’s B&W Photographic Challenge this week is on Cameras and / or people taking photos; so I kind of did both, as well as a few odd shots of deep space cameras on moon / mars rovers etc from Mount Stromlo Observatory a few years back (please don’t heckle me if I got all that wrong, it was something to do with space and photos the rest I kind of vagued out – it’s Moth’s thing not mine – space [OK I like Sci-Fi stuff, but whatever right? LOL]). The first few are all taken on my old Olympus Camera (relegated to work), taking photos of my Smart Phone taking photos of stuff! Not all that exciting but I like the idea, might try it on a few other landcapes etc.

Then there are a few pic of people taking photos, just to round things out.

Now is that everything? I would love to take some photos of really old camera items, but I just don’t have any.

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge – Plastic

This weeks theme is Plastic, for Cee’s B&W Challenge, usually Plastic is very colorful, so I found when done in B&W it lost some of its vibrancy, or is that just me? Anyway the first one is a Bright Blue Plastic peg outside a re created Bower Bird Nest at Healesville Sanctuary, VIC. I saw it and thought it would be perfect for this week’s theme.

Picnic Dinner

The next shot is not strictly speaking B&W, I know a bit cheeky! Anyway it was a bright red plastic boat on the shore of Lake Wanaka in NZ. I dropped all the color from the shot except the Red and then over saturated those, it turned the boat a little pink, but I was overall happy with the effect.Picnic Dinner
