This week’s Travel Theme, by Where’smybackpack is Trees – I just kept it simple and went for trees and shrubs
1.a plant having a permanently woody main stem or trunk, ordinarily growing to a considerable height, and usually developing branches at some distance from the ground.
2.any of various shrubs, bushes, and plants, as the banana, resembling a tree in form and size.
3.something resembling a tree in shape, as a clothes tree
or a crosstree
4.Mathematics, Linguistics tree diagram
This week’s Travel Theme by WheresmyBackpack is Centre. I thought Center could be applied different ways
- the point that is equally distant from every point on the circumference of a circle or sphere.
- the point from which an activity or process is directed, or on which it is focused.
- “the city was a centre of discontent”
- occur mainly in or around (a specified place). “the textile industry was centred in Lancashire and Yorkshire”
- place in the middle. “to centre the needle, turn the knob”
In the Centre of frame
Centre of attention
Quake City Centre
This week’s Travel Theme is One Color, sometimes I feel like I am repeating myself with some of the challenges, almost feel like they are starting to blur, and I do not want to keep reusing old pics for similar themes, I apologize if I am. So for this week I have used a couple of very recent shots. One is of a fair at Easter, all lights and action, but not many people. Take this empty Ferris wheel. The second shot is the moon taken the night BEFORE the Lunar Eclipse (also at Easter). It was actually larger that night than just before the eclipse, I was out shooting a sunset, when I got this snap shot. The tree was just a little hazy from the light breeze which had picked up, so I applied the Orton Effect to enhance the depth, but only at 50% so it wasn’t too blurry.
This week’s Travel Theme, by Where’s my Back Pack is Smooth
This week has been another busy week, so I am going to cheat and re use some shots I have taken recently up at the Duck Pond. The surface of the water so so smooth, just like glass until a duck broke the surface and left ripples on the water. Just beautiful.
The 30th of March is “Take a Walk in the Park Day” – nobody is quite sure how, when or by whom this ‘holiday’ was started, but who cares, what a fabulous idea.
A marvelous idea indeed. This was a quick snap I took this morning up at the local duck pond, pre dawn. I was waiting for sunrise to start a shoot. I decided to use it as this week’s Travel Theme – Outdoors
The lamplight (lamp is just out of shot is reflecting on the surface of the pond). I was a beautiful morning. The rest of the photos I will put up in another post.
This weeks Travel Theme from Where’s my Backpack is Spring. And while the Northern Hemisphere is celebrating the arrival of Spring, here in the Southern Hemisphere we (well some of us) are mourning the passing of Summer!
Nothing says Spring like flowers, these were taken way back in our Spring; last year!
This week’s Travel Theme is fantastic. In my recent travel’s I took some photos of some strange wacky, fantastic stuff………some of it I thought I could use in future challenges, some was just weird and wacky, but all of them were part of a fantastic journey. My world is not a disc………..but Terry Pratchett did help me pass a few funny hours during my life, whether in book or TV form…..loved Going Postal and Hog Father specials that were on a few years ago. His books had amazing, fantastical characters, like Maurice the Rat. He will be sadly missed. But remember he didn’t die so much as left early to avoid all the traffic!
