Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – This Land is my land – Aussie Style

I know the challenge is “This Land is my Land” which I must confess I didn’t know, so after I looked up the lyrics, I thought this seems a very patriotic American Song………I am an Aussie and thought I could do one for us! I could have done I still call Australia Home, True Blue or even Advance Australia Fair, but I really, really like this song and they teach it at a lot or Primary Schools………..it’s very Aussie! And a lot of fun. Also I am posting a little bit early………..for Australia Day.

Home Among the Gum Trees by John Williamson

I’ve been around the world, A couple of times or maybe more
I’ve seen the sights, I’ve had delights. On every foreign shore

My Sunshine (2 of 2)
But when my mates all ask me The place that I adore
I tell them right away

Give me a home among the gumtrees

Grants Park
With lots of plum trees, A sheep or two, and a kangaroo

A clothesline out the back, Verandah out the front

Caldermeande Dairy Farm & Cafe
And an old rocking chair

Handcrafted-rocking-chair

You can see me in the kitchen, Cooking up a roast
Or Vegemite on toast. Just you and me, a cup of tea

And later on, we’ll settle down, And go out on the porch
And watch the possums play

There’s a Safeways up the corner
And a Woolies down the street

WOW-Blakes-Crossing
And a brand new place they’ve opened up
Where they regulate the heat
But I’d trade them all tomorrow
For a little bush retreat

Craigs Hut
Where the kookaburras call

Some people like their houses
With fences all around

Shelley Beach
Others live in mansions
And some beneath the ground
But me I like the bush you know
With rabbits running round

Caldermeande Dairy Farm & Cafe
And a pumpkin vine out the back

no tresspassing– Julz  (I hope you all enjoy a little bit of Australiana!) Happy Australia Day to Aussie’s every where……….especially those of us who are out of the country
